the next person who thinks it is cool and ok to dump a cat-

what part of pain and suffering and death do you not understand? this area is not a nice place for cats outside, foraging for food. I am trying now to tnr a terrified cat who has a huge gash on the side of his head. probably bumper disease (hit by car) but why? why did the cat get dumped? yes, it was dumped, i know because it meaows at me from a distance and no feral cat ever acknowledges a person. There is a huge difference between feral and homeless. This isn't the first time this has happened… Continue

a shout out to the road crews!!!!!

Many Thanks to the New Albany road crew for keeping my little spit of a side street clear. Due to various medical issues I need access and the road crew for New Albany has stepped up and kept my road clear! Thank you to all the hard working individuals who do the work, and here is hoping we won't need them again this year .

New Albany School Children in Need

A common myth is that all the children attending NA schools come from families that are well off or, at bare minimum, can provide all the neccessary basics for their children. Unfortunately, this is not true. Some of the children are coming from homes that are struggling. They often don't have appropriate clothing for the winter. A neighbor of mine is active in a wonderful charity - the Newsies. The Charity Newsies will be accepting applications for school-child clothing through Jan. 8, 2010, fo… Continue

Missing Dog Alert

To Whom It May Concern,
My family was visiting my sister and her family for their daughter's wedding on the weekend of November 7, 2009. My sister's renter accidentally let our puppy out and we haven't been able to find her. We looked that night (Saturday, November 7th) and all day Sunday and Monday morning. The problem is we are from Pennsylvania and we had to return home. We all went through the neighborhood and went to the local BP gas station, the Marathon Gas Station, the local Vet and lots… Continue

New Albany History

The Plain Township and New Albany area was settled in 1810 by Noble Landon, who moved to central Ohio from St. Albans, Vt.
Almost 30 years later, Landon and William Yantes of Maryland laid out the village of New Albany, which was centered around Landon’s tavern and inn on High and Main streets.
The village, which had a population of about 50, was chartered in 1856.
In the 1990s, local businessman and philanthropist Les Wexner moved to New Albany with the vision of good schools, recreational spaces and detailed community planning.
He formed the New Albany Co. to oversee land purchases and development to ensure a steady commercial tax base for the village and the New Albany-Plain Local School District.
Today, New Albany is home to over 7,000 people, and Plain Township has over 800 households.
The New Albany Business Park hosts some of the nation’s biggest companies, such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Tween Brands, American Electric Power and Commercial Vehicle Group.
The New Albany-Plain School District, which covers 26 square miles of New Albany, Plain Township and a portion of Columbus, has been rated “excellent” by the Ohio Department of Education for the last three years.
